Hi out of ibp or near can I catch both perch and also white fish and trout? How deep would I need to be? Thanks
You will catch perch anywhere from 10 feet of water right out past 40 feet. That mean from 10 yards off the boat ramp, to the right, on out. Ive had my best luck for perch that are keepers and cisco in 25 feet of water at IBP. Straight out from the boat ramp you will see a permanent hut. That is 40 feet of water. Still perch and cisco out there and you may hook into a trout or whitie from that point beyond. Key word there is MAY. For trout and whities you are going to have your best chances by walking out towards the islands. Once you've walked out about 800 yards you will be in deeper water, around 60 feet +. That is the best chances for trout snd whities. Still some perch and cisco in those waters too.

pasnydes: I shall revise that first comment and ask if the ice is good on lake Simco. The ice here on lake Erie and its bays is iffy at best.

pasnydes: Yes I have. Ice is not real solid real firm from what ive read. looking for colder waters and thicker ice.
