I'm HEADING UP TO MY PROPERTY THIS WEEKEND To feed the bears, if I get 1 in the next couple of weekends I'll send you a PM. You don't need meat just the a piece of the hide. My group also has 6 deer tags so I can give you some deer hides if you want. That Starts Oct 1st.
If your looking for a chunk of meat for consumption I may be able to help you out.
Today I'm building new tree stands and putting big boat away till spring. Been watching 5 bucks and 15 doe's every Saturday and Sunday mornings. Just might be a Great Season for me. Good Luck all you hunters Play Safe Shoot Straight Flip
I'm not much of a bass fisherman as I like big fish. Any North wind over 15km up at Sibbalds I stay away from that area. The bay has smallies and lg mouths I sent you a pm where to start to search em out. Play safe Flip
We managed 16 pike yesterday. Bite was good till about 10 than it slowed down. Had 1 walleye at side of boat (chasing) the bait. But it didn't commit!
If I had Photobucket I would post up the pics. I got great action shots on my FaceBook Lots of fish out there. Had 2 other boats out by me but I only seen 1 pike on a stringer. And none that were caught by me. Play Safe Flip
Got out for a pike morning on Canada Day. Water is stained from all the rain. Son in law and I managed 14 pike with a few lost at side of boat. Couldn't get any walleyes to hit but it was fun while it lasted. Tomorrow I'm going for Salmon and rainbows on Lake Ont. Play Safe Flip
I read this on May 12th . That's 30 plus days not 7 hours. If I lived near Cooks Bay I would take advantage of that generous offer and I very surprised nobody else has responded.
Whoops my bad.
I get up at 3am so I guess I was still 1/2 asleep. I'm surprised also No 1 took you up on this. 1-1/2hr drive isn't so bad.... I drive over 2hrs to bay of quinte just to try to get a bite in the winter. But it's all worth it in the end.
Your post has only been up for 7hrs let ppl read it b4 you get to Excited. Someone will answer this... Just not in 5mins. There's lots of pike out there the walleye's are tough to catch but they are there. Most ppl will take their favorite walleye spots to their grave. I know I am.
I'm going to really have to step up my game to post messages here!
I've been fishing Cooksbay over 40yrs now. Once you learn their patterns 9 is Not a lot of fish. I was with 2 other guys on this board a few yrs ago we managed 54 in less than 5hrs. Biggest was 13lbs. There's a thread on here somewhere with pics That was a exceptional day. Play Safe Flip
I was out there last Saturday morning for about 4hrs. With My Son-in-law and we only landed 9 had 1 break off. Yes it is slow this year I think its due to high water and it being "Dirty" Biggest landed was around 10lbs Find the weeds Find the fish. Play Safe Flip
I'm heading up to my Property today after work. Going to feed the bears and move stands around. Bear opens Monday morning but I won't be able to hunt till next Sat. Shoot Straight PPL and remember "ONLY male bears are allowed to be Shot" Play Safe Flip
I got out Saturday in the Jon boat for crappies. Got into some decent ones. On Sunday I decided to try another area but lake simcoe with the big boat gave it a nice run. We managed 26 Jumbo's biggest was 15-1/2in just over 2lbs. My buddy is getting it mounted. It's his biggest he has ever caught. If the winds play nice on the weekend I'll be heading out again Saturday. Play Safe Flip P.S Watch for lots of floating debris
I'll go take a drive in a bit. If theres open water the ducks and geese will be in there by the thousands. I'll post it in the FB cooksbay board. Its easier for me to upload. If there is open WATER I wouldn't suggest going out there anymore. Once she opens She has a really good chance of Shifting. That could leave you stranded and waiting for your $1000 ride back to main land. Use Common Sense and Play very Safe. It's only a fish and you can't catch them if you are bobbing in the WATER. Lots of rain moving in the rest of the week and into next week. With rivers running again and the warm temperatures I'd just pack it in PPL. There are lots of lakes to the North to go out on, or even go Rainbow fishing. Play safe Flip
Peter We should get a pike derby going for Cooks Bay only Have some Sponsors off the board and I have some stuff to add to it Try to make it friendly and everyone could get a prize. If I can suggest I'd say 1 day on a weekend in June. Just a thought Flip
I'm pulling out the boat this weekend to re install the trolling motor and check the batteries. Than the riggers and another fishfinder. This year I will be focusing on big "Pike" and Walleyes! There is lots out there and timing is "Key" After 40 yrs of catching its time to try to break some of my personal bests. Can't wait. BTW I'll be doing some pike derbies this yr
Good luck to all that go out there. Catch your limits limit your catch.... Play safe Flip
