How's the spring turkey hunt going so far for everyone!!? The rest of the week weather wise looks good and the weekend even better. I was fortunate enough to be able to harvest a nice gobbler on Monday morning just before 8am and was on my way out of the bush just before the rain started lol I don't do the whole photo bucket thing so can't post up a pic but it was 20+ Bird with a 9' beard. There's something about hearing that gobble in the morning that's truly awesome!

Went last two days. . Yet to get a visual on gobbler, plenty of talk though. Single hens making an appearance. Amazing how I seem to find 30+ birds on drive home after 19:00! Heading out again this afternoon.
Congrats on gettin' er done early.

Casacrow put the birds to bed the night before, Than get into your spot by 4am. Put decoys out right away (pray) the morning dew doesn't get on them by legal light. If the sun hits them it will give them a shine. Also less calling is best. You won't go near your wife if she is nagging.... neither will a Horny Tom. He knows he ain't getting any either... lmao Play safe Shoot Str8 Flip

I roosted a couple toms last night(roughly, they disappeared into private property, but strolled through my range prior). Was set up with decoys at 0500. 0545 heard gobblers in front, behind, and off to the side. Thought we'd bag one for sure. I was with a buddy that was calling a lot. I think it ruined us. After an hr gobblers didn't even want to talk anymore. I think you're right. Less calling is key. I've had a chat with my buddy about calling too much. It's brutal how many I find in fields on my drive home. Another 20-30 this morning. I may resort to asking to hunt on private land. Thanks for the tips!
