Hi There,
Just joined the board, hello to all. Rented a boat yesterday and went out with my boys. We had a good time and caught a bunch of perch and trolled around for something larger, had a few hits but nothing. I used a Rappala, one boy used a good size spinner and my other boy insisted on a plastic frog. I found the FOW to be around 10 feet is that a good area for pike and bass. The weeds look perfect for pike and bass. I'm sure I will try it again in the future, service is great and the boat was in the water waiting upon our arrival. Excellent.

Do you & your family fish the ice? We love the ice here at this board, hope you will join us out there this winter.

Just saying Hello, new to the board. I live up in Barrie and started fishing this year with my buddy. He picked up a little zodiac inflatable this summer and we've been out once or twice a week for the past few months.
I tried cooks bay the first time on sunday through gilford, the waves were just soo choppy it was pretty rough in the small boat. But it was a lot of fun, looking to get some largemouths around there, but don' tknow where to go. We think just going north or south from gilford and hitting the shorline and docks all around. We only got a 2.5hp motor so were a bit limited.
Any suggestions? The water seems pretty shallow there, only 1-2' close to shore but I guess if its deep enough for the motor its deep enough for bass.

Welcome new members it’s nice to have you here. Gov ,drop your boat at the end of Gilford rd and start heading south along the shore line until you come to a plain parked about 6 water front homes. You’ll see a white floating ball in the water. if you fish there you should do pretty good..

Hello, Thomas from Toronto, have been fishing for 30 years. Immigrated from Hong Kong 20 years ago. Basically a week-end fisherman and usually fished around 15 times a year in various lakes. Have fished Lake Simcoe about 15 to 20 times during all these years. Will have my first boat delivered in May 2011. My boat slip will be in a marina at Keswick.
