Hillcrest & Sacred Heart School Salmon Release & Hatchery Tour: Another year is coming to an end our 1st 2 Schools have released their/our Salmon & had a Trout Hatchery tour as well as a Kincardine Light House Tour that our Hatchery Manager set up for after they were done with the Salmon Release & Trout Hatchery Tour, Rotary Park had the Washrooms open & Picnic tables out for the Students to use for their Lunch Break also, it was a little bit wet out but it really didn't matter to anyone as that can be a big part of Fishing. 8 more Schools to go & then the Clean up of all the Equipment starts, Time to go fishing soon lol. We started off with 1 school in 2010, 3 schools in 2011, a $6,000.00 grant from Libro Financial Group allowed us to expand to 10 school in 2012 & now the $12,000.00 grant from Bruce Power allowed us to expand to 17 school in 2013-14, most of the schools were set up in late October but we added 2 in the last week, School that are now involved are located 2 in Goderich, 1 at Brookside, 1 in Wingham, 2 in Teeswater, 2 in Mildmay, 2 in Walkerton, 1 in Ripley, 2 in Kincardine, 2 in Port Elgin, 1 in Southampton & 1 in Wiarton, Thank You very much Bruce Power for your generous donation. Hoping to hit 20 for 2014-15 & the waiting list is growing. Tight Lines SBK lhfcschoolhatcheries.blogspot.ca/2013/12/lhfc-school-salmon-hatchery-program.html

Moe Whytock & I headed up to Port Elgin to meet Garry at the Hatchery & pick up the Salmon to deliver to Peninsula Shores District School in Wiarton, I met my father & invited him a long to the school as he lives in Wiarton now & could help with delivering food or equipment if needed, Richard Gawel a member of the BPSA & LHFC has worked to get an Aquarium in the Wiarton School, we were welcomed with a wolf cheer after introductions & 2 of the Students dumped the Salmon into the Classes Hatchery. lhfcschoolhatcheries.blogspot.ca/2014/01/peninsula-shores-district-school-wiarton.htmlThen it was off to Walkerton District Community School to set up our last school of the year, there are 3 classes helping to take care of the Salmon & have decided to set it up in the Library for all to enjoy, one of the Students from each of the Classes helped dump the Salmon into the Hatchery. lhfcschoolhatcheries.blogspot.ca/2014/01/walkerton-district-community-school.htmlHope you enjoyed the little video Tight Lines Richard

Sorting Days are today from 9 am to 12 noon. And Monday through Thursday from 9 am until noon next week as well or until we finish. Fin Clipping starts next Saturday, February 8th, at 9 am until noon and will continue until completed. If you can help, please come out. It is a great way to meet fellow club members and show your support to the fishery. Matt Luckhart is spearheading this campaign so if you have any questions please send him an email at [email protected]Otherwise just show up at the hatchery in Kincardine and ask for Matt any day you can help. Evening hours could be arranged if a few volunteers wanted to set up a work crew, Thanx & Tight Lines SBK lhfcschoolhatcheries.blogspot.ca/2014/02/kincardine-hatchery-rainbow-trout-2nd.html
